Thanksgiving Weekend
We went to visit Ryan's parents over Thanksgiving. We spent Thursday at his Dad's and had dinner there. A lot of you already know Lauren had a little accident on their treadmill. She has a burn on the left side of her face and her left hand. It's looking a lot better than it did, but I did call her pediatrician today and they wanted to see her. So off to the doctor we went. They gave me some Silvadene to apply once a day. I'm also supposed to be diligent about sun screen on her face for the next TWO years. On Friday we went to visit Ryan's mother and then went to dinner with her, her husband, and some of Ryan's cousin's family. After we ate, our van wouldn't start. We got a jump and tried to get a battery at a nearby KMart but they didn't have any for sale. Not one battery in the store was for sale because they had not been tested yet. We went to Walmart next and got a battery. We were hoping to go back to Ryan's mom's house to put it in, however, the car wouldn't even hold the charge long enough for us to get going so they had to change it in the parking lot. By the time they got finished it was a little after midnight and we still had to drive back to his dad's house where we were staying. The kids didn't get to bed until 1:00 am. Thankfully, we didn't have any more excitement the rest of our trip. We got back late Saturday afternoon and needless to say the kids are still trying to catch up with their sleep.

It looks like a bruise. I'm glad it's better now.
wow. how did it happen?
My father-in-law's wife's six year old grandson was on the treadmill and Lauren decided to get on after him. He set the controls and then sped it up really fast on her. There were a couple of adults including Ryan in the room but they didn't realize what was going on. Fortunately, the boy's mother was walking in the room right when Lauren fell and she quickly grabbed her. So we are thankful that she only has the brush burns on her face and hands since it could have been much worse
wow, how scary. glad she's okay.
Wow, that looks like some burn! Being a girl, she probably hates it, but let me tell you, the boys would probably love an awesome looking wound like that! (Of course without the pain!)
